LuostoClassic association has organised the festival since 2003 LuostoClassic association was founded in 2002 just to peroduce the premiere of the Luosto Symphony. Since that it has organized the LuostoClassic festival annually in August. The members in the association are culture activists and Lappish entepreneurs. The first LuostoClassic festival was organized in August 2003. The Radio Symphony Orchestra and Lapland Chamber orchestra performed the premiere of the Luosto Symphony composed by Kalevi Aho. The concert was conducted by John Storgårds. The critics and audience of over 2000 people loved the performance. LuostoClassic won the appreciated "Bright Spot" price of the cultural year 2003. Following summer the audience in Ukko-Luosto outdoor concert hall and Aittakuru Amphitheatre enjoyded the perfomances of Virtuosi di Kuhmo, Lapland Chamber orchestra, the Rashcer Saxophone Quartet, saxophonist Jukka Perko and alphorn player Carlo Torlontano. The conductor John Storgårds accepted the role of artistic director and has since that created the content of the festivals. in summer 2005 The Radio Symphony Orchestra returnet to Luosto to prefom agai the Luosto Symphony with the Lapland Chamber orchestra. The festival had also vistor from Sweden, the famous percussion ensemble Kroumata won the hearts of Lappish audience. In 2006 the visitng symphony orchestra was Tampere Filharmonia. At Ukko-Luosto it had a concert with Lapland Chamber orchestra and the woman choir Philomela. Philomela had own concert in Friday night at Aittakuru and Lapland Chamber orchestra had the Mozart jubileum concert in sunday at hotel Luostotunturi. 2007 festival celebrated the jubileum year of great masters: Tan Dun, Jean Sibelius and Edvard Grieg. In the main roles were the Lapland Chamber orchestra with extra srings and PIPA, Chines lute that was played by Wu Man, the international star of the instrument. 2008 the guest was the third full symphony orchestra in Finland, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra. Third time the Luosto Symphony was performed. Saxophonist Jukka Perko had again role in the concerts with Helsinki Philharmonic and Laplan Cahamber Orchestra. As a new venue Ahvenlampi had its premiere. English virtuoso Nicholas Walker had there a concert with grand piano. 2009 brought Avanti! to Luosto. Avanti! is an ensemble that varies in size from a string quartet to a symphony orchestra, it specializes in no particular genre. Rather, it is proud to be a specialist in all styles with a strong sense of responsibility for the music of today. Avanti! has had a tremendous influence on music in Finland. As part of the main concert in Saturday was the song cycle Rain and the Red Earth by Eero Hämeenniemi. As soloist there was Bombay Jayashri Ramnath. She is one of the leading stars of contemporay Carnatic music. She is tremendously popular in India and her concert tours take her all over the world. Avanti! had three concerts in LuostoClassic. Beside the main concert the Gumbavanti had an incomparable african concert in Aittakuru and the whole Avanti! performed in Sunday’s matinee concert. The Indias had at Ahvenlampi a carnatic solo concert, that hit directly to listener’s soul. The opening concert was the fiesta of Lapland male choirs. Close to 100 male singers brought the touching Lappish feelings to Ukko-Luosto concert hall. In 2010 the guest starr of the festival was the Karelian Philharmonic Orchestra from Russia. The peak in the program was Tsaikovsky's Overture 1812 with real cannoons and church bells. Audience loved also Jukka Perko's production ”Bird Lives” where also Tampere Chamberi performed. Seitakuoro choir from Rovaniemi had two outdoor concerts. Sunday was fiesta of piano vith virtuoso Jukka Nykänen. In Festival there were five outodoor concerts and several dinner concerts.
